Evans and Cyrenne claim week 9 MRGC honors

LOGAN, Utah – Shannon Evans and Helody Cyrenne received Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference weekly honors for their performances at No. 11 Boise State.

Evans was named MRGC Gymnast of the Week after scoring a 39.575 in the all-around, earning a 9.900 on vault, 9.850 on bars, 9.875 on beam and 9.950 on floor. Her performance on vault also led her to be named Vault Specialist of the Week.

The junior extended her weekly honor streak to nine as she was named Gymnast of the Week and Vault Specialist of the Week for the third time this season.

Cyrenne scored a career-best 9.925 on beam, earning the Beam Specialist of the Week award for the first time this season. This is the second award she has received this season.

The Cougars travel to Arizona State on Wednesday, Mar. 13, at 6:30 p.m. MST.
