Evans and Miner named MRGC Specialist of the Week

LOGAN, Utah – Senior Shannon Evans and sophomore Abbey Miner earned Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Specialist of the Week honors for their performances on bars and floor against Boise State.

Evans scored a 9.950 on the uneven bars as she shared the honor with Boise State's Shani Remme and Emily Muhlenhaupt. The junior went on to score a career-high 39.500 in the all-around.

Evans extended her weekly honor streak to six as she was named Bars Specialist for the third time this season.

Miner scored a career-best 9.925 on beam as she shared the honor with Utah State's Madison Ward-Sessions. This is the second time she has been awarded MRGC honors this season after being named Vault Specialist for week five.

The Cougars continue MRGC competition at Southern Utah on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. MST.
