No. 16 Cougars host Utah State in annual Kids Meet
PROVO, Utah – The No. 16 BYU gymnastics team hosts Utah State for the annual Kids Meet on Friday, Jan. 25, in the Marriott Center.

THE COUGARS. After earning the highest season-opening meet score in program history against instate rival Utah, the Cougars opened Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference action with a win at Utah State. BYU outscored the Aggies 194.575 to 193.950. Shannon Evans led the team with a 39.125 in the all-around and scored a 9.875 on the vault to earn first place in the meet and MRGC Vault Specialist of the Week.
KIDS MEET. In 2018, the Kids Meet broke the gymnastic program's attendance record after 5,112 local elementary school students flooded the Smith Fieldhouse. The previous record was 4,753 in 1999. Over 6,000 students are registered to attend the meet and a new record is expected to be set on Friday.
THE AGGIES. Despite falling to the Cougars in the first MRGC competition, Utah State was led by Madison Ward-Sessions as she won individual honors for her performances on the balance beam and floor. Her scores earned her MRGC Gymnast of the Week and Floor Specialist of the Week honors.
