Halliday repeats as MRGC Gymnast of the Week
PROVO, Utah -- Senior Makenzie Johnson Halliday earned her second consecutive Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Gymnast of the Week award for her performance in competition last week against Utah State University.
Halliday scored a 39.225 in the all-around as the Cougars finished behind the Aggies in an MRGC battle, 195.475-195.150. In addition to her title in the all-around, Halliday secured titles on beam and floor with matching 9.875s and also took home second place on vault with a 9.800.
This marks Halliday's third Gymnast of the Week award for the 2016 season, making her ineligible for future weekly awards this season due to conference rules.
The Cougars are back in action Saturday, February 27, at 1:00 p.m. MST, at the Smith Fieldhouse to host Southern Utah University for their final home meet of the season.
