Nine Cougars recognized for All-Conference Academic
PROVO, Utah – The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference announced its academic all-conference honorees with nine student athletes from BYU earning the distinction.
The academic all-conference awards are the first for the MRGC after being officially recognized as a conference by the NCAA prior to the 2015 season. To be eligible for the award a student athlete must have a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have appeared on the squad list for the 2015 season.
The BYU gymnastics team finished in fifth place at the MRGC Championship in March. For the 24th time in the last 26 years the Cougars qualified to compete in the NCAA Regionals where they came in sixth place. With Brad Cattermole's retirement, new gymnastics head coach Guard Young looks to lead the Cougars to another successful season.
