Hatch and Kulczyk receive weekly honors
CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Mountain Rim Gymnastics Championship announced Raquel Willman Hatch and Eliane Kulczyk were named Gymnast and Specialist of the Week for their performances against Washington last week.
Hatch finished with the best all-around score among the five teams in the MRGC. She earned the best mark on the bars (9.925) and tied for first on the beam (9.850). The senior also contributed a 9.750 on vault and 9.825 on the floor to help BYU edge Washington, 196.125-194.300.
Kulczyk recorded first-place honors on floor and vault, scoring a 9.900 and 9.850, respectively, on each event. She was also one of the top finishers on bars with a 9.850, finishing second. The sophomore gymnast shared the honor with Boise State's Kelsey Black.
This is the third award for Hatch this season and the first for Kulczyk.
The Cougars travel to Arizona this weekend to face Arizona, Texas Women's and Bridgeport on Saturday afternoon.
