PROVO -- The MWC honored BYU's Josh Rohatinsky and Kassi Andersen as the Men's and Women's Cross Country Athletes of the Week.

Rohatinsky, a Provo, Utah, native, brought home the individual title at last weekend's Bill Dellinger Invitational in Eugene, Ore. In a race that featured No. 7 Portland, No. 15 Oregon and 19th-ranked Alabama, among the 13 teams competing, Rohatinsky finished in a MWC 8K season-low time of 22:58.37, leading No. 10 BYU to a third place finish.

This is the third time Rohatinsky has been honored as MWC Cross Country Athlete of the Week. The first came after winning three consecutive races to start the 2004 season. The second was awarded after placing third at the Griak Invitational last year. He is a two-time All-America honoree, and as a freshman he was named MWC Freshman of the Year.

In the women's race, Anderson won the individual crown helping the sixth-ranked Cougars finish second. Her time of 19:54.09 in the 6K race is the top time in the conference. No. 7 Duke, No. 8 Arkansas, No. 21 Washington, 28th-ranked Wake Forest and 30th-ranked Oregon also competed.

This is Andersen's second MWC Athlete of the Week award in the past month. She was previously recognized for her first-place finish at the BYU Autumn Classic on Sept. 9.
