Women's Team Heads to Arizona State Invitational
PROVO -- BYU women's cross country team will travel to the heat of Arizona for the Arizona State Invitational Friday at 4:45 p.m., Arizona time. Coming off a strong first-place finish at the Great American Cross Country Festival followed by a bye week, the Cougars will run against at least nine other teams in the 5K race at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Ariz.
Running for BYU will be Lisa Antonelli, Amy Bair, Angela Benson, Jaime Cottle, Suzanna Larsen, Emily Mars, Katie Moon, Kristen Ogden, Tiffany Rust, Anika Smith and Devra Vierkant. Yet to make an apperance this season are All-Americans Lindsey Thomsen and Jessie Kindschi. Several of BYU's top runners will not run this weekend as they prepare for Pre-Nationals Oct., 19, in Terra Haute, I nd.
At the ASU Invitational, BYU will run against the following schools: Arizona, Arizona State, CSU Hayward, Gate Way CC, Mesa CC, Northern Arizona, Phoenix College, Pima CC and Scottsdale CC.
