PROVO -- BYU freshman Kassi Andersen earned a spot on the U.S. Junior National Cross Country team with a sixth-place finish at the 2002 USA Winter National Cross Country Championships.
Andersen covered the six kilometer course in 21:41 to earn the final spot on the U.S. Junior National team that will be traveling to Dublin, Ireland to compete in the World Junior Cross Country Championships on March 23rd.
"Going in I was confident of my training," said Andersen. "I knew coach had prepared me well. Mentally I was not as well prepared as I was physically because I haven't raced cross country at a competition like that."
