Frentheway, Lee-Hansen and Martin collect WCC Academic honors
SAN MATEO, Calif. — The West Coast Conference honored three BYU student-athletes when it released its 2022 Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team on Thursday.
Aubrey Frentheway and McKenna Lee-Hansen were named to the league’s All-Academic First Team while Anna Martin received an Honorable Mention citation.
Frentheway achieved a 3.56 GPA as a mathematics education major while taking fourth at the WCC Championships in November with a time of 20:08.9. The Cheyenne, Wyoming native would go-on to earn All-American and All-Mountain Region honors in addition to First Team All-WCC accolades.
Lee-Hansen studies strategic management and boasts a 3.98 GPA. The sophomore from North Ogden, Utah crossed the finish at 20:40.5 to take eighth at the league’s 2021 title meet; garnering first team all-conference honors.
This marks back-to-back seasons in which Frentheway and Lee-Hansen have received WCC First Team All-Academic awards.
Martin, an English teaching major from Lehi, Utah, took 14th at the WCC Championships and finished the season with an All-Mountain Region honor as well.
Together, Frentheway, Lee-Hansen and Martin helped the 2021 Cougars to a national runner-up finish along with their fourth-straight WCC title; 43 points ahead of second-place Gonzaga.
