BYU men’s program finishes 11th in Program of the Year standings, women’s program 15th

PROVO, Utah – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) ranked the BYU men’s program No. 11 and the women’s program No. 15 in its final Program of the Year standings.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution’s finish at the NCAA Championships. Alabama won the men’s 2018 Program of the Year while Stanford finished atop the women’s standings.

The BYU men’s program accumulated 78.5 points over the three seasons to finish 11th. The Cougars started out with an impressive performance in the cross country season finishing third at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The men’s track and field team finished tied for 34th at the NCAA Indoor Championships before ending the year tied for 40th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The women’s program amassed 126 points to end the year 15th in the women's standings. The women’s cross country team kicked things off with a strong 11th-place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The track and field team tied for 45th at the NCAA Indoor Championships before finishing tied for 66th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
