Team to play UConn during this week's road trip.

The team's second major road trip of the year takes place this week during their nonconference schedule with two games against first-time opponents. BYU's (3-2) women's basketball team will battle powerhouse and no. 2 ranked Connecticut (5-0) on Thurs. Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. ET., then will travel to nearby Fairfield for a matchup against Sacred Heart (1-3) on Sat., Dec. 1 at 2 p.m.

Game #6- 11/29/07: BYU @ UConn Time: 7 p.m. ET Arena: Hartford Civic Ctr.

Game #7- 12/01/07: BYU @ Sacred Heart Time: 2 p.m. ET Arena: William H. Pitt Ctr.

About This Week's Opponents

UNIV. OF CONNECTICUT - Hartford, CT (11/29/07)

Connecticut returns all five starters from last year's team that tallied a 32-4 record, won the Big East conference title and advanced to the NCCA Regional Four. Head Coach Geno Auriemma, is in his 23rd season at the thelm of the Huskies program with an impresssive 621-120 record. So far this season, UConn has tallied a 5-0 record, most recently winning the Paridise Jam Tournament in the Virgin Islands. Maya Moore and Tina Charles top the list in scoring with Moore's 18.6 points and 6.4 rebounds while Charles contributes 14.0 points and grabs a team high 7.6 boards a contest.

In the 2007-08 campaign, the Pionners return two starters and six letterwinners from a team that compiled a 22-10 record, and finished tied for First Place in the Northeast Conference. Ed Swanson is in his 19th season with the Pionners and has a 278-202 record. Prior to the meeting with the Cougars on Saturday, Sacred Heart will host Albany, Wednesday Nov. 28. As of 11/25, the team had a 1-3 record. Toping the leader board in scoring is Kaitlin Sowinski, a 6-4 junior center who averages 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.In rebounds, Stephanie Ryan tops the list where she grabs 7.3 boards per contest.

Flights: On Tuesday, Nov. 27 the team departs on Delta flight# 0048 departs SLC at 1:33 p.m., arriving in Cincinnati at 6:55 p.m., then Delta flight# 1174 departs Cincinnati at 7:45 p.m., arriving in Hartford at 9:37 p.m.

On Sunday, Dec. 2 the team leaves Hartford on Delta flight# 1500 at 6:10 a.m., arriving in Cincinnati at 8:20 a.m., then departs Cincinnati on Delta flight# 0793 and arrives in SLC at 10:40 a.m.
