ARLINGTON, Texas — The Big 12 Conference released the scheduling matrix for the 2023-24 women’s basketball season on Thursday morning. BYU’s inaugural season as a member of the Big 12 will consist of 18 conference games, playing five teams in a home-and-home series while playing the remaining eight teams once. Of the single-game opponents, BYU will play four at the Marriott Center and four on the road.

Opponents were selected based on a combination of geography, historical results and a poll of the coaches to best balance the schedule in terms of travel and competitive balance. A full Big 12 schedule will be released at a later date.

Second-year head coach Amber Whiting will lead the Cougars into their first Big 12 season as they look to improve on a 2022-23 campaign. Whiting coached BYU to a 16-17 record in her first season as a Division 1 head coach, earning wins over Pac-12 tournament champion Washington State, in-state rival Utah State and reaching the semifinal of the West Coast Conference Tournament.
