No. 16 BYU takes on tough road swing at Portland and Gonzaga

PROVO, Utah – The No. 16 BYU women's basketball team takes on one of its toughest road swings of the year in the West Coast Conference at Portland on Thursday and at Gonzaga on Saturday.

Portland (13-4, 3-2) tips off from the Chiles Center on Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. PT. The game will be televised regionally on ROOT Sports NW, NBC Sports California and Bally Sports West. It will also be available on the WCC network outside those regions.

Gonzaga (16-4, 7-0) hosts the Cougars on Feb. 5 from the McCarthey Athletic Center at 2 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on SWX Live and ROOT Sports NW. It will also be available on the WCC Network outside those regions.

BYU Game Notes (18-1, 8-0)

• LAST GAME: BYU scored 99 points en route to a 41-point win over San Francisco on Saturday afternoon. Paisley Harding dropped 30 points against the Dons and won WCC Player of the Week.
• PORTLAND (13-4, 3-2). The Pilots and 3-2 in conference and are coming off of a 68-55 win at San Diego.
• GONZAGA (16-4, 8-0). The  Bulldogs are right behind the Cougars with a 7-0 start to WCC play. Gonzaga hosts Pacific on Thursday.
• The Cougars are No. 16 in the AP Top 25, tying the programs’ best mark set earlier this year. BYU is also 10th in the latest NCAA NET rankings and is projected as a 5-seed in the latest ESPN Bracketology for the NCAA Tournament.
• After falling to Oklahoma in overtime, BYU has won 10 games in a row, topping the earlier season’s best mark of 8 games.
• BYU has won 27 consecutive games in the Marriott Center. The program record is 33 games, set over the 1978-80 seasons.
• BYU is ranked No. 4 in scoring margin at +20.6 points per game and ranks No. 12 in scoring offense at 78.9points per game. The Cougars are No. 3 in assists per game (20.1) and No. 4 in assist to turnover ratio (1.48), No. 5 in field goal percentage (47.1) and No. 13 in field goal percentage defense (34.8).
