BYU hosts in-state rival Utah State on Tuesday in Kids’ Game

PROVO, Utah — BYU women’s basketball returns to the Marriott Center this week. The Cougars host in-state rival Utah State on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 11 a.m., in the annual Kids’ Game. The battle between the Cougars and the Aggies will be carried live on BYUtv.
ABOUT BYU
- After a 71-65 road win over Fresno State, BYU women's basketball improved its record to 2-1 on the year
- With 395 total wins, head coach Jeff Judkins is the all-time winningest men’s or women’s BYU basketball head coach. He needs five wins to reach 400 victories, a coaching milestone
- The Tuesday game vs. Utah State marks the second-straight Mountain West Conference team that BYU will play this season
- The Cougars return 10 letterwinners and three starters, while adding five newcomers and one redshirt freshman
- Two players are putting up double figures in scoring led by 14 points from junior guard Paisley Johnson; senior Jasmine Moody follows contributing 11 points a game
- The team’s assist leader is junior guard Maria Albiero (3.67 apg); in steals, the team is led by Brenna Chase Drollinger (2.3 spg); junior center Sara Hamson leads the way in rebounds (11.3) and blocks (2.3)
- After finishing second in last year’s West Coast Conference race and winning the league’s tournament crown, BYU was selected to finish second in the conference race
- Three Cougar players were named to the 2019-20 Preseason All-WCC Team: Brenna Chase Drollinger, Paisley Johnson and Sara Hamson

- Utah State comes to Provo with a 2-3 record, picking up wins over Seattle University and Long Beach State
- Last season the Aggies finished the year with a 17-16, 10-8 record and a fifth-place finish in the Mountain West Conference
- Utah State participated in postseason play last year, advancing to the Second Round of the Women's Basketball Invitational
- The Aggies were selected to finish eighth in the 11 member Mountain West Conference
- Head coach Jerry Finkbeiner is in his eighth season at the helm of the Utah State women’s basketball program where he has compiled a 98-126 record
