San Bruno, Calif.—Lexi Eaton Rydalch has been named this week’s West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The honor is the first for Rydalch this year and the second of her career.

She led the Cougars in the two in-state rival victories over Weber State and Utah and extended BYU’s win streak to six games. The team finished its nonconference portion of the 2015-16 season with an 8-3 record.

Rydalch tallied her sixth and seventh games with 20-plus points with a game-high 25 in the road win at Weber State. She nearly had a double-double after pulling down nine rebounds along with one assist and one steal. She shot 56 percent from the field in the win over the Wildcats.

In the home win over in-state rival Utah, Rydalch recorded her seventh game and third straight 20-plus point outing with a game-high 29. Before fouling out with four minutes left in the game, she had also pulled down six rebounds, dished out two assists and tied for the game high in steals with three. Rydalch went 4 of 7 from 3-point range and shot 48 percent from the field.

With the last three straight 20-plus scoring outings, she is six points away from reaching 2,000 points in her career. She’d become just the fifth BYU player to reach that milestone. She’s currently at 1,994 career points.

For the week, Rydalch averaged 27.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game. She shot 51.2 percent from the field, 58.3 from behind the arc and 50.0 percent from the charity stripe.
