Women's basketball collects College Sports Madness accolades

PROVO, Utah -- College Sports Madness announced its 2013-14 West Coast Conference awards with coach Jeff Judkins and senior Jennifer Hamson highlighting the group.

Judkins was named West Coast Coach of the Year after guiding his team to a 24-5 (14-4 WCC) record heading into the conference tournament. This is his 13th season coaching at BYU, the eighth with 20-plus wins.

Hamson was named West Coast Player of the Year after being second in the league in scoring (18.5) and rebounds (12.1) while being the overall league leader in field goal percentage (56.6) and blocked shots (4.2). She also led the nation in total blocked shots (122) and blocks per game and was second in the conference in double-double nights (19). In addition, Hamson was listed on the first team.

Senior Kim Beeston and sophomore Lexi Eaton were added to the second team. Beeston ranks first in conference play with 3-point field goals made, second in 3-point field goal percentage, third in assist/turnover ratio, fifth in assists and 20th in scoring. Eaton ranks third in 3-point field goal percentage, fourth in conference scoring, sixth in free throw percentage and 12th in 3-point field goals made.
