Steed Named College Madness West Coast Player of the Week

College Sports Madness has named BYU guard Haley SteedMadness West Coast Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the past week’s action.

College Sports Madness identifies the players who have made the greatest impact on their team from each conference and on a national basis each Monday. This is the third honor for Steed this season.

Steed, a 5-foot-4 guard from Syracuse, Utah, helped guide the Cougar women to two West Coast Conference wins this past week. In the home win over Saint Mary’s, she had 14 points and grabbed five rebounds while getting game highs in assists and steals with nine and five, respectively.

In the road game at Santa Clara, she recorded back-to-back double figures in scoring picking up a game-best 17 points along with three rebounds. Steed also logged game highs in assists with six and in steals with four.

The Cougar women return to action this Thursday evening hosting San Diego in an early 6 p.m. MST tip off. The game can be seen live on BYUtv.
