PROVO, Utah - The BYU softball team will play 15 nationally televised games on BYUtv during the upcoming 2012 regular season. In addition, 10 games will be broadcast on BYU Radio.

The 15-game national television schedule is unprecedented in college softball, giving Cougar fans around the country a chance to watch BYU go for its fourth-straight conference title and eighth NCAA tournament berth in a row.

The Cougars, which will participate as members of the Western Athletic Conference this season, are coming off a 40-18 record last season that included a third-straight Mountain West Conference championship and a trip to the NCAA Seattle Regional. Head coach Gordon Eakin is heading into his 10th season as head coach with a 371-160 (.699) career record.

The BYUtv broadcasts include all three games of WAC series against New Mexico State and San Jose State along with both games of Saturday doubleheaders against conference foes Hawai'i and Utah State and nonconference opponent UMKC.

Other televised games include nonconference home games against Idaho State, Utah Valley and Southern Utah.

Three other games, including away contests at Utah and at Utah Valley along with a home game vs. Hawai'i, will be broadcast live on BYU Radio.

BYUtv is available on Dish Network channel 9403, DirecTV channels 374 and 68 and is also carried by nearly 600 cable TV providers nationwide. For help finding a cable provider in your area, please contact the BYUtv customer service department at 866.662.9888 (Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm MT).
