PROVO, Utah - BYU Softball will be holding walk-on tryouts on Tuesday, September 13, at 3 p.m. at Miller Park.

All interested participants need to have a complete physical from their own doctor prior to the tryouts. The paperwork and instructions are available at 141 Miller Park.

"We are not looking to fill our roster by holding tryouts," said BYU head coach Gordon Eakin. "We already have 20 players on our 2011-12 roster. The reason we hold tryouts is to give BYU students who feel like they haven’t been seen an opportunity to show us their skill level. It is a difficult way to make our team but is available for those who wish to try."

The tryout will be held for one day for approximately two hours depending on the number of participants. Each player will be timed for speed in addition to being given a chance to show their position and hitting skills.

If interested, contact associate head coach Vaughn Alvey at 801-422-1157 or vaughn_alvey@byu.edu.
