Battle in the Valley
PROVO -- With back-to-back victories over in-state rival Utah, and records being broken from within the circle, BYU (26-8, 2-0) heads down the road to play Utah Valley Tuesday at 5 p.m.
The last two times these teams met, BYU run-ruled UVU twice with scores of 12-1 in five innings, and 12-4 in six.
After winning their first two conference games, the Cougars are well on their way to a record-breaking season from the circle.
Right-handed pitcher Paige Affleck's win over Utah last Saturday put her one win over her sesason record of 19 wins.
Now, with 20 wins under her belt, and with 18 more regular season games still left to play, Affleck is well on her way to becoming the winningest pitcher in one season in BYU softball history.
The current record is held by Summer Tobias who held 26 wins in 2006.
Live stats audio will be provided for the BYU-UVU game this Tuesday at 5 p.m. (MST) and can be found at www.byucougars.com.
