PROVO -- BYU softball was shutout in back-to-back games in Saturday's double-header against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene, Ore.

In game one, the Cougars couldn't get anything going offensively managing just three hits as the Ducks finished off BYU in only five innings. Junior Brooke Boyce started on the mound for the Cougars with Summer Tobias coming in for relief. Boyce took the loss and is now 3-2 on the season.

Game two was not much different as BYU was held once again to three hits that included two by freshman Lindi Kennedy. Usually consistent freshman Daniella Urincho pitched the first four and two-thirds innings and gave up four runs on six hits. Senior Niki Anderson entered to the game in relief of Urincho to continue her comeback from illness.

BYU now 17-8 on the season is set to begin play at their home field of Miller Park to take on UVSC on March 30, at 3 p.m. in Provo.
