BYU Loses to UC Santa Barbara, 2-4

SANTA BARBARA -- The BYU women's softball team lost to UC Santa Barbara 2-4, Thursday. The loss drops the Cougars below the .500 mark to 5-6 in their tough non-conference schedule.

The Gauchos struck first with two runs in the first to take a quick 2-0 lead. They scored two more in the third to make it a four run lead. The Cougars scored their only two runs of the game in the fifth off a two-run blast from All-American Oli Keohohou, her fifth of the season.

The Cougars had only 4 hits and committed three errors showing lack of both offense and defense.

BYU will face No. 7 Cal and Sacramento State tomorrow at 10 a.m.and 12:30 p.m. at the "Softball By the Beach" Invitational hosted by UC Santa Barbara.
