Utah Game on Road Saturday on Webcast

PROVO -- The BYU women's softball team (24-16, 3-5) will travel to Utah State this Thursday to take on the Aggies (3-32) at 2 p.m. The Cougars will finish their weekend in-state road trip at MWC rival Utah (16-20, 5-3) on Saturday at noon in Salt Lake City.

The Cougars have defeated Utah State three times in as many meetings this season. The last time they met, BYU won at home 7-1, 9-8 (8). The Cougars haven't faced in-state rival Utah this season but Utah barely won the MWC Coach's preseason poll by one vote with the Cougars receiving one more first-place vote.

"We're glad to have the chance to stay close to home for the next two weeks," head coach Mary Kay Amicone said.

Sophomore Oli Keohohou currently leads the team in battinge averate (.421), hits (40), home runs (14), and slugging percentage (.895). Junior Brooke Cadiente is second in average (.314) and leads the team in RBI (37). Freshman Niki Andersen (6-5) leads the team in ERA (3.47) and strike outs (53). Cynthia Fallowfield leads the team in wins with 10.

The next home game for the Cougars will be a doubleheader on April 19th against San Diego State at 5 p.m. on KBYU television.
