Eakin announces signing of infielder Keila Kamoku
PROVO, Utah — BYU softball head coach Gordon Eakin announced the signing of transfer infielder Keila Kamoku on Wednesday.
"We want to welcome Keila and her family to the BYU softball family," Eakin said. "She is a great addition to our team. She brings two years of SEC experience with her, and will be ready to compete on day one in the Big 12."
Kamoku is a five-foot-four junior who will join the Cougars after two seasons at Ole Miss. She started 57 of 60 games at second base for the Rebels last season, hitting .286 with 44 hits, 25 RBI, eight home runs and a .494 slugging percentage.
The Kapolei, Hawai’i native tallied 39 total RBI between her two seasons in Oxford, also posting a .945 fielding percentage with 111 putouts and 96 assists.
Kamoku prepped at Kamehameha Schools Kapalāma in Honolulu, where she was a three-time letterwinner.
