BYU softball announces 2022 schedule

PROVO, Utah – The BYU softball team announced its 2022 season schedule Tuesday.

The schedule features five tournaments that span across the West, with three in California, one in Nevada and one in Arizona.

The Cougars open their season at the UNLV Rebel Classic which will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada this season, hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Then, BYU will travel to California for the Stanford Invitational from Feb. 17-19. The Marry Nutter Invitational will follow in California from Feb. 24-26, with the teams BYU plays still to be announced. For the fourth week, the Cougars will travel back to California to participate in the San Diego Classic. BYU closes out their tournament run by making a trip to Arizona in the Arizona State/Grand Canyon University Invitational.

BYU opens conference play on April 8 with a home matchup against Loyola Marymount University. The 2021 season also features a three-game home series against the University of New Mexico from Mar. 31-Apr. 1, while also competing against in-state teams, Utah, UVU, Utah State, SUU and Dixie State.
