Peterson picks up second WCC Player of the Week award
SAN MATEO, Calif. — Coming off a weekend series sweep at Santa Clara, HannahJo Peterson has been named the WCC Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Peterson went 8-13 from the plate and walked three times in games against Southern Utah and Santa Clara. Peterson knocked two doubles and three homers and brought in six runs in the four contests. In a two-game stretch against Southern Utah and Santa Clara, Peterson was 6-7 with three home runs, six runs and five RBI. She finished the week with a slugging percentage of 1.462 to go with her .615 batting average.
This Cougars have now claimed 13 of the 24 WCC weekly awards this season. Peterson also won WCC Player of the Week on April 5. Other Cougars who have won weekly awards this season include Autumn Moffat-Korth, Violet Zavodnik, Rylee Jensen, Alyssa Podhurcak, Arissa Paulson and Martha Epenesa.
