Freshman Zavodnik earns first career WCC Player of the Week
SAN MATEO, Calif. – Freshman Violet Zavodnik earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Zavodnik went 4-7 with three runs in three games while totaling two homers and four RBI in the ninth week of competition. The freshman finished the week with a 1.571 slugging percentage while also drawing two walks, two hit-by-pitches and two stolen bases.
Against Idaho State, the outfield blasted two two-run homers while going 1-2 against UVU with one run and a double. She completed the week with a .571 batting average starting all three games in centerfield.
This is BYU's eighth overall player of the week award, joining Rylee Jensen, Alyssa Podhurcak, Arissa Paulson, HannahJo Peterson and Autumn Moffat-Korth.
