Softball sets 2021 schedule

PROVO, Utah – The BYU softball team announced its 2021 season schedule Tuesday morning, after having to cancel the 2020 season due to the coronavirus last March.  

The schedule features four tournaments that span across the West with one tournament in the south at Oklahoma.

The Cougars open their season at the Kajakawa Classic which will be held in Tempe, Arizona this season and hosted by Arizona State. Then, BYU will co-host the St. George Classic with Dixie State the following week. Another Arizona tournament will follow, this time hosted by Arizona in Tucson. For the fifth week, the Cougars will make their first trip of the season to California and participate in the Stanford Invitational. BYU closes out their tournament run by making a trip to the South to the Oklahoma and Oklahoma State Invitational.

BYU opens conference play on April 9 with a road matchup against Saint Mary’s. The 2021 season also features a three-game home series against Big 12 foe Baylor from April 1-2 while also competing against in-state teams, Utah, UVU, Utah State, SUU and Dixie State.
