No. 20 Autumn Moffat
Freshman pitcher/first baseman from Eagle, Idaho
Why did you come to BYU?
I came to BYU because of the high values that it has. I also wanted to be involved in a school that gave a lot of attention to the athlete body and would support us.
What is your favorite softball memory?
Pitching in the last game of my high school career and being able to help my team win its third state championship.
Who do you look up to and why?
I look up to my parents because they are the best examples of how to live your life to the best, how to be the happiest and how to treat everyone with respect and kindness.
What is one thing few people know about you? Any unusual talents?
I really love egg burritos and I could eat one every single day. My unusual talent is that I pop my hips multiple times a day.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
I would really love to go to the Maldives and stay in a water bungalow. I would also love it because of the coral reefs I could dive around.
What is your favorite thing about BYU?
My teammates and the chocolate milk.
No. 3 Marissa Chavez
Freshman shortstop/second baseman from Covina, California
Why did you come to BYU?
The campus and area are beautiful, the academics and the level of play for softball are very high.
Do you have any pregame rituals?
I wear the same ribbon in my hair every game and I always have to wear a matching headband.
What is your favorite softball memory?
Whenever anyone in high school hit a home run, my team would have a bunch of red Solo cups full of water waiting for you to get home.
Who do you look up to and why?
My dad because he has shown me what hard work is from the very beginning. He came from nothing and worked for everything we have today.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?
Japan because I have never been there and my grandma’s parents are from there.
What is your dream job?
Doing business internationally.
