PROVO, Utah -- The fall schedule for BYU softball was announced Tuesday which features six home games and two away games.

"Fall is always an exciting time to integrate our new incoming players to the program," BYU head coach Gordon Eakin said. "We use fall to continue to develop our veteran players as well as to see how our new incoming players fit our system."

The Cougars add seven freshmen to the team while returning 11 players from the 2014 roster. Last season the team took the inaugural softball West Coast Conference crown for its sixth-straight conference championship. BYU also appeared in the NCAA tournament for the 10th consecutive time.

The fall slate commences with games at Gail Miller Field against Utah State Friday at 7 p.m. and College of Southern Idaho Saturday at 3 p.m. The Cougars will then face Salt Lake Community College Oct. 7 and Snow College Oct. 10. BYU wraps up the home schedule with a doubleheader against Southern Utah and Utah Valley Oct. 11 before finishing up fall play on the road with two games against UNLV Oct. 18.
