Manuma wins her second WCC Player of the Week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Katie Manuma was named West Coast Conference Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.
In a rain-shortened week, Manuma went 3-for-7 including two home runs and four RBIs against No. 2 Tennessee. Her first home run gave the Cougars a 3-0 lead against the previously unbeaten Lady Volunteers and her second made it 5-3 in the top of the seventh. This is the second weekly award for Manuma this year and third of her career.
Sophomore pitcher Sydney Gouveia of Loyola Marymount was named the WCC Pitcher of the Week.
BYU will participate in the Stanford Lousiville Slugger Classic this week. It will face Stanford in its first game of the tournament on Thursday at 6 p.m. PST.
