PROVO, Utah -- BYU fans will have their first opportunity to preview the 2013 BYU men’s volleyball team when it hosts its traditional Alumni Match at 9:30 p.m. MST Friday in the Smith Fieldhouse.

The match will follow the 7 p.m. matchup between BYU women’s volleyball and New Mexico State in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

The Cougar squad is excited to continue its preparation and growth for the upcoming season in the alumni match facing five former Cougar All-Americans, including recent 2012 graduate Robb Stowell.

Joining Stowell is Ryan Millar (’99), Michael Burke (’05), Joe Hillman (’04) and Fernando Pessoa (’04).

Millar is a four-time All-America selection and 1999 Volleyball Magazine National Player of the Year. Millar led BYU to its first national championship in 1999 and is a three-time member of the USA Olympic Team.

Burke and Hillman were integral members of the 2004 National Championship team. Pessoa is a two-time national champion, starting for both the 2001 and 2004 National Championship teams.

Admission to the match is free.
