CHICAGO -- After a tough loss on the road yesterday, the second-ranked BYU men's volleyball team bounced right back and defeated Lewis University on the road in a sweep (26-24, 25-20, 25-14).

Junior Robb Stowell led the Cougars to against the Flyers with a match-high 14 kills and a .370 attacking percentage.

Senior Kevin Sagers joined Stowell in double-digit kills with 10.

As a team, the Cougars hit .415 compared to a .192 hitting percentage from Lewis.

After playing a close first set with a 26-24 final, BYU took sets two and three while holding the Flyers to 20 points in the second and just 14 in the third.

A 4-0 Cougar run highlighted set two as BYU gained the momentum it needed to take the victory.

Two straight kills from Alex DaPron and Futi Tavana helped the Cougars take set three and, eventually, the match.

Brian Muessenfechter and Ian Karbiener recorded 12 and 10 kills, respectively, for the Flyers.

The Cougars tallied 43 assists to the 28 from Lewis and 10.5 team blocks compared to the 6.5 from the Flyers.

Freshman outside hitter, Taylor Sander, did not make the trip to Chicago for violating team academic policies.

The Cougars will continue their four-match road swing with a trip to UC Santa Barbara next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18. Both matches will begin at 7 p.m. PT.
