Sander Nabs MPSF Player of the Week
PROVO -- True Freshman Taylor Sander was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week, as announced Monday.
Sander, a Norco, Calif. resident, was named UC Santa Barbara Invitational MVP in his first collegiate week, leading the championship match victory with 16 kills on a .500 hitting attack, along with six blocks.
He combined for 42 kills in 11 sets (3.82 K/S) over a perfect 3-0 Cougar weekend.
Following BYU's winning weekend, the Cougars moved up to No. 2 in the AVCA National Division I-II Poll.
The next game for the BYU men's volleyball team is this weekend, Jan. 14 and 15, in Palo Alto, Calif., against No. 4 Stanford. Both games are schedule to begin at 7:30 p.m. PT.
