He was also named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Co-Player of the Week, the weekend sweep bringing the Cougars within percentage points of first in the MPSF.

Stowell has helped the Cougars establish an eight-game win streak over the past four weekends, moving them from No. 4 to No. 2 over the four-week span.

Leading the Cougars on the attack and on defense both days, Stowell had 19 kills at .389 hitting, 11 digs, two service aces, and nine blocks on Thursday. One block away from a triple-double in his all-around performance, Stowell tallied his second double-double of the season and the fourth of his career Thursday.

For the second night in a row Stowell led the Cougars with 26 kills, tying his career record. He also posted a season-high in hitting percentage at .657 while adding 11 digs for his third double-double of the season and the fifth of his career.

He hit .521 on the trip (45-8-71), averaging 2.75 digs, 1.63 blocks, 0.38 aces, and 6.81 points per set.

This is Stowell's first AVCA weekly honor of his career and the first MPSF of the season. He was previously named MPSF Player of the Week on March 6, 2007 as a true freshman.

Stowell shares the MPSF weekly honor with Murphy Troy of USC.
