Three Cougars named to 2023 MPSF All-Academic team
WOODLAND, Calif. — Three members of the BYU men's volleyball team were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball all-academic scholar athletes team, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Mitchel Worthington, junior Kupono Browne and sophomore Teon Taylor were honored for the 2023 men's volleyball season.
In order to qualify for the conference's all-academic team, the student-athlete must carry a 3.00 or better cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, have completed one full academic year at the institution prior to the season for which the award is received and competed in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition.
A fifth-year senior, Worthington graduated from BYU with a 3.14 GPA in Business Management. Taylor completed his third academic year at BYU with a 3.51 GPA in Biology. Junior Kupono Browne finished with a 3.34 GPA this season as a Psychology major.
