Taylor crowned Off the Block's National Middle Attacker of the Week for second time this season

PROVO, Utah — BYU volleyball sophomore middle blocker Teon Taylor was named this week's National Middle Attacker of the Week after totaling 17 blocks through two five-set victories against No. 7 Pepperdine last weekend.

The Las Vegas, Nevada native had a match-high nine blocks against the Waves on Saturday, holding Pepperdine to a season-low clip of .218 in the win. Taylor also had two solo blocks against the Waves on Friday. Through two games, Taylor totaled 17 blocks and held a .643 clip on 14 swings.

Taylor currently leads the NCAA in block assists with 93 and averages 1.346 blocks per game, the third-highest average in the NCAA. Taylor also holds the 2023 NCAA season single-match high for most blocks in a match with 13 against UC Irvine in January.

This is Taylor's second national recognition from Off the Block, with a previous win on January 30, 2023.
