Cougars Remain No. 1 in National Poll
PROVO, Utah - BYU men's volleyball remained No. 1 in the NVA/AVCA national poll ahead of its season opener this week.
For the second week in a row, BYU has been voted the top team in the country. The Cougars claimed 13 out of the 16 first-place votes. The second spot is held by Hawai'i (0-0), which claimed two first-place votes, while Lewis (5-0) moved up one spot to No. 3 in the rankings.
BYU will begin the 2021 season this week against No. 8 UCLA, Thursday and Saturday in Provo. The Bruins improved one spot in the rankings after sweeping Grand Canyon last week. Currently, the Cougars hold the upper hand in the series against UCLA with a record of 36-34. In Provo, BYU leads the series 24-10.
