Five former Cougars begin FIVB World League play with Team USA
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Three former BYU men’s volleyball players and two former coaches begin FIVB World League play this week with the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Newcomers Jake Langlois and Ben Patch join veteran Taylor Sander as the three former Cougar players on the roster. Former assistant coach Mike Wall will serve as the team leader while former associate head coach Rob Neilson will serve as an assistant coach for Team USA.
The squad will play Serbia, Canada and Belgium from June 2-4 in Serbia. From June 9-11, it will face Italy, Russia and host France. The team will end pool play in Poland by facing Iran, Russia and Poland from June 15-18.
The top five finishers plus Brazil will qualify for the World League Final Round in Curitiba, Brazil, from July 4-7.
Team USA, ranked No. 2 in the world, begins play Friday, June 2, at 7:30 p.m. MT, against Serbia in Novi Sad, Serbia.
