No. 3 BYU heads to UC Santa Barbara for regular-season finale
PROVO, Utah – No. 3 BYU men’s volleyball hits the road for one last time in the regular season, facing UC Santa Barbara for two matches Thursday and Friday.
The Cougars (21-3, 14-2 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) need to win both matches, or at least one, while having No. 1 Long Beach State (23-3, 15-2 MPSF) drop its regular-season finale against No. 14 CSUN, to clinch a share of the regular-season conference title.
UC Santa Barbara
- BYU faces off against the Gauchos (10-14, 5-11 MPSF) in Rob Gym Thursday, April 6, at 7 p.m. PDT, and at the Thunderdome on Friday, April 7, at 5 p.m. PDT.
- UC Santa Barbara is just 1-4 in their last five matches, winning only against Harvard in five sets.
- The Cougars are 39-21 all-time against the Gauchos, but are just 15-13 when facing them on the road.
- UC Santa Barbara is vying for the eighth and final seed in the MPSF Tournament with USC (12-13, 6-10 MPSF).
