PROVO, Utah — BYU men's volleyball has added Andrew Lincoln, a recruit from Arizona, to its roster for the 2016 season.

Lincoln, who will be a freshman for the Cougars next season, is currently a senior in high school playing for Brophy College Preparatory. The 6-foot-7 Phoenix, Arizona, native will play setter for BYU.

"Andrew's a great guy that we've known about for a little while now," BYU head coach Chris McGown said. "He's a player that's really physical, a good size, and he's got some versatility. We're really excited that we've been able to carve some space for him in the roster. He had an interest and ultimately decided to come."

Lincoln has led his squad to an 11-1 record so far this year as a senior. He led his team to 32 wins in each of the previous two seasons, including going 12-0 in section as a sophomore.

As a Bronco, Lincoln has averaged 1.61 kills, a .391 clip, 0.15 assists and 1.23 digs in an opposite hitter position.

He competed for USA Volleyball in 2014 as a part of the Junior High Performance of the Arizona Indoor Region (AZHP) in addition to being named Honorable Mention All-State from AZCentral Sports.

Lincoln has also competed for club teams in each of the past two seasons - for East Valley Juniors from 2013-14 and Spiral from 2014-15. Additionally, he was named Most Valuable Player of the Wolf Howl Tournament earlier this month, after leading his team to eight-straight victories.

Lincoln will join the Cougars this fall in preparation for the 2016 season.
