Cougars at home for matches against Cal Baptist

PROVO, Utah – No. 7 BYU men’s volleyball stays at the Smith Fieldhouse this week for another pair of conference matches – this time against Cal Baptist.

Cal Baptist

  • The Cougars (6-2, 5-1 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) face off against the Lancers (3-7, 1-6 MPSF) Friday and Saturday night beginning at 7 p.m. MST.
  • BYU leads the overall series 17-3, including a 15-2 record when playing at the Smith Fieldhouse.
  • The Cougars swept Cal Baptist in both matches a season ago.
  • The Lancers were picked to finish 11th in the preseason coaches’ poll.
  • Cal Baptist is led by Rocky DeLyon’s 2.68 kills per set, an 8.63 assist average from Zachary Melcher, 2.03 digs per set from Kevin Kustura and Enrique Garcia’s 1.55 blocks per set.

BYU swept UC San Diego at home last week in Friday and Saturday matches to stay tied with Pepperdine for second place in league play.
