Men's Tennis Faces San Diego in NCAA Tournament
PROVO, Utah -- After winning the Mountain West Conference Championships, the No. 35 BYU men’s tennis team heads to Los Angeles to take on No. 31 San Diego May 13 at 11 a.m. in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
“It was exciting to see BYU up there on the screen,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “We’ve had a great season so far, but we still have some goals to accomplish. We’re excited to play San Diego.”
BYU is 21-5 overall and 6-0 in conference. The Cougars haven’t lost in regular-season conference play since 2009, the team’s longest winning streak in MWC history.
The Cougars faced San Diego in January, losing to the Toreros 6-1.
San Diego is 18-6 overall. The match will be played at No. 2 USC’s tennis courts.
USC (21-1) will take on Sacramento State (14-13) at 2 p.m. the same day. The winners of both matches will play May 14.
