PROVO -- With six consecutive wins already behind it, the No. 35 BYU men’s tennis team welcomes the University of Pacific to the BYU Outdoor Tennis Courts Saturday at noon.

“I think the main thing is we just want to keep on challenging our guys and focusing on one match at a time,” BYU head coach Brad Pearce said. “We need to compete at every position and never give up.”

The Cougars’ Saturday's win against No. 54 Boise State jumped them from No. 39 to No. 35 Tuesday. BYU (10-4) is still undefeated at home with a 5-0 record.

No. 101 Patrick Kawka and team captain Evan Urbina lead the Cougars in singles holding a 22-7 record and a 23-8 record, respectively. The two also pair up for doubles and lead the team with a 17-7 record.

Georgy Batrakov hasn’t lost a singles match in nine matches, the longest Cougar winning streak this spring. The junior is 12-3 on the season and is undefeated in doubles with partner Thomas Shubert (5-0).

Pacific is 3-6 on the season. Last season, Artem Gramma led the Tigers in singles with a 22-9 record and teamed up with Ivan Castro to lead in doubles 12-7.

Spectators may park in the "Y Lot" parking lots northwest and south of the Outdoor Tennis Courts. Admission is free and pizza and prizes will be available. In the event of poor weather, the match will be moved to the Indoor Tennis Courts.
