Cougars Take on No. 8 Stanford

PROVO -- Coming off a sweep of Montana State, the No. 46 BYU men’s tennis team is ready to take on No. 8 Stanford Friday at 1 p.m. in Palo Alto, Calif.

The Cougars are 4-3 for the season and have won their last two matches.

Mountain West Conference Player of the Week No. 110 Evan Urbina leads the Cougars with 19 singles wins, followed by No. 88 Patrick Kawka who has 16 singles wins. The pair also leads the team with 12 victories in doubles. No. 44 Thomas Shubert and Spencer Smith have seven doubles wins.

For Stanford, Bradley Klahn ranks No. 15, Ryan Thatcher ranks No. 41 and Alex Clayton No. 61. The Cardinal has two ranked doubles teams, with Klahn and Thatcher at No.16 and Daniel Ho and Jamin Ball at No. 60.

The Cougars will be back in Provo Feb. 18 to take on Nevada at 5:30 p.m.
