PROVO -- Brad Pearce, head coach of the BYU men’s tennis team, has been named winner of the 2010 USTA/ITA Campus and Community Outreach Award for his work to promote tennis in the BYU community.

The ITA will present Pearce with the award at a ceremony in Naples, Fla., Dec. 18 held at the Naples Grande Beach Resort.

Earlier this year, Pearce received Coach of the Year awards from the Mountain Region and the Mountain West Conference.

Pearce is in his eighth year coaching the Cougars after helping out as assistant coach under former BYU head coach Jim Osborne.

Under Pearce’s guidance, the Cougars went 21-7 in the 2009-10 season, defeating all opponents in the MWC to finish regular-season conference champions. The team was ranked No. 36 nationally after an appearance at the NCAA Championships and as high as No. 23 nationally during the season.
