Pearce Receives Regional Coaching Honor
PROVO, Utah (May 13, 2010) BYU men’s tennis head coach Brad Pearce has been named the Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year for the Mountain Region, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Thursday.
This is the first regional coaching honor for Pearce. Last week he was named the Mountain West Conference Coach of the Year.
Pearce, who is in his seventh season at the helm of the men’s tennis program at BYU, guided the Cougar team to an MWC regular-season title after going 6-0 in league play. On the year, BYU has compiled an impressive 21-6 overall record to date, while being ranked as high as No. 23 in early March.
This week the Cougars are participating in the NCAA postseason tournament for the first time since 2001 and are currently ranked No. 34 nationally.
