Tennis Team Heads to MWC Championship
PROVO -- The No. 61 BYU men’s tennis team will travel to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The fourth-seeded Cougars will open play against No. 46 San Diego State Thursday.
BYU began conference play with losses against TCU and Utah but rebounded with three consecutive wins over Mountain West opponents. The Cougars fell in their match against New Mexico to end the regular season.
Fifth-seeded San Diego State will challenge BYU to open the tournament. The Cougars defeated the Aztecs 5-2 in San Diego when the teams met in April. Should BYU win the first round, the team will face No. 38 TCU, the No. 1 seed.
The match begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Jerry Cline Tennis Center.
