Cougars Travel to So Cal Tournament
PROVO -- The BYU men's tennis team will play its last tournament of the fall season this week at the So Cal Intercollegiate Championship in Los Angeles. Previous winners include tennis great Arthur Ashe, Stan Smith and current BYU head coach Brad Pearce.
Four members of the team will begin play in the qualifying singles round Wednesday, including all three of the Cougars' new freshmen. Doubles play and the main singles draw start Thursday.
The Cougars will compete against players from the University of Southern California, UCLA, UC-Irvine, UC-Riverside, UC-San Diego, UC- Santa Barbara, Pepperdine and Azusa Pacific.
The five-day tournament will be held at the Los Angeles Tennis Club and matches begin at 11 a.m. each day.
